My first journey to Darasuram Temple- Part 1



                         I took this beautiful journey after visiting the famous temple in Gangai Konda Cholapuram, that we see in later posts. Before sharing my pictures and interesting facts about the beautiful temple at Darasuram.

Let's brush up your mind with simple ideas about the temple.

                     Airavateswara temple is located in Darasuram, Kumbakonam(India), was constructed in the12th century by Rajaraja chola 2.

                 This small mandapa protected by gates has interesting stone steps that produce 7 svaras at different points. Due to vandalism, these steps are protected now. This mandapa is actually a palipeda where human sacrifices are done. You may get an idea just by looking at the top and architecture around the mandapa.
